Our large WBM 221 twin-spindle surface grinding machine is a great success.
Ever since it was first developed, WENDT has delivered more than 300 units
worldwide. The continuously enhanced machine has two 500 mm grinding wheels.
While the lower wheel is fixed in axial direction, the upper wheel is lowered
to the required size. Four waisted-shank bolts pre-tension the three-section
cast iron base with great strength, thus providing excellent rigidity. The
grinding spindles have a hydrostatic bearing, which makes for excellent
damping behaviour. A hydraulic system that is completely integrated in the
machine base helps to achieve high thermal stability. The eccentric in-feed
system of the upper grinding spindle lowers the feed rate once the set size is
reached. With the automatically adjustable fixed stops, workpieces can be
positioned with very high precision.
WBM 221 applications
